MPP #12

Our beloved faithful friend, your love you shared until the very end.
For years our family was blessed, now it's time for you to rest.
You still live on in our hearts and minds, of the loving family you left behind.

MPP #13

Have you a dog in Heaven, Lord? Is there room for just one more?
Cause my little dog died today; he'll be waiting at your door.

Please take him into Heaven, Lord. And keep him there for me,
just feed him, pet him, love him, Lord, that’s all he'll ask of Thee.

MPP #14

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of birds in flight. I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die...

MPP #15

I thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.
I think of you in silence.
I often speak your name.
Now all I have is memories,
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake,
with which I’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
I have you in my heart.

MPP #16

It’s Hard To See Tomorrow,
when someone you love is gone.
And it’s harder still to realize
that your life will still go on.
But the Lord won’t give you burdens,
which He knows you cannot bear,
And He will not leave you comfortless...
You’ll always find Him there.
We’re all our Father’s children,
here on earth and up above,
And your loved one now walks
Close to God,
Surrounded by His love.

Don't Grieve For Me

Don' grieve for me, for now I'm free; I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much; good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seems all too brief; don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

God Whispered

God saw that you were
getting tired
and a cure was not to be...
So He put His arms around you
and whispered, "Come with Me."

With aching hearts,
we watched you suffer
and saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not help you stay.

A Loving Heart stopped beating,
A special friend put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep.
Then you will do what must be done,
for this last battle can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
but don't let grief then stay your hand.
For on this day more than the rest,
your love and friendship must stand the test.
We've had so many happy years,
you would not want me to suffer so,
so when the time comes please let me go.
Take me to where my needs they'll tend,
only stay with me until the end,
hold me firm and speak to me
until my eyes no longer see,
I know in time that you'll agree
this was a kindness you did for me.
Although, my tail it's last has waved,
from pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you,
who has to decide this thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

We were blessed to have you in our lives.
All the beautiful memories we have of you,
we will carry with us each
and every day of our lives.
Rest in peace, my loving
and faithful companion.
Your long battle is over.
You will be greatly missed !!!!

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called
Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Beyond The Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade

I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, an on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful - lush and green and wide
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright glow pierced the night
"Twas the glow of many candles, shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in it's brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be
We are still connected by a cord no one can see
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart

A Dog's Prayer
To Those I Loved & To Those Who Loved Me… When I am gone, release me, let me go,
For I will never be far away you know, Please don’t suffer with all those tears,
But instead, be happy we had so many years. I gave you my love, but you can only guess,
How much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for all the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled alone. So grieve for awhile, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief turn into trust, Bless our memories within your heart,
For it is only for a while that we must part. Though you can not see me, I will be near,
My love will surround you, soft and clear, And one day, when you must come this way alone,
I will be there to greet you… with a wag, a smile, and a "Welcome Home“.

Parting Prayer
Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge.
Assign him to a place of honor, for he has been a faithful servant and has always done his best to please us.
Grant us the strength not to dwell on our loss. Help us remember the details of his life with the love he has shown us.
And grant us the courage to honor him by sharing those memories with others.
Let him remember us as well and let him know that we will always love him.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of his companionship and for the time we've had together.
And thank you, Lord, for granting us the strength to give him to you now.
Amen.

Pet Prayer #1

Lord Almighty God, this animal brought sunshine to us and was a vital part of our lives.
His passing has created a void in our hearts that cannot be filled.
We do not question the will of God, but ask Him to be merciful in our loss.

Amen.

Pet Prayer #2

Heavenly Father, Creator of all things, thank you for having entrusted us with a loyal pet.
Thank you for letting him teach us unselfish love.
Thank you for the memories that we can recall to brighten our days for the rest of our lives.
Finally, in gratitude, we return our pet to you.

Amen.
